According to the celebrity, the dish, recognized as an intangible heritage by UNESCO, was taught to him by refugees from Ukraine when he visited Moldova.
“I recently came back from Moldova. I was there with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to see a lot of refugees from Ukraine. It inspired me a lot. One of the things I did there was cooking. The Ukrainian woman taught me how to cook borscht, which I adore. So I will show you this recipe as a sign of respect for them,” said the actor.
Stanley Tucci says the main ingredients in making borscht are cabbage, carrots, onions, garlic, tomato paste, potatoes and beets.
However, after tasting his borscht, he admitted that he didn’t like the taste.
“I’m sure I did something wrong. I’ll try to cook it again. I apologize, especially to Svetlana, who taught me how to cook borscht in Moldova,” said the actor.
