The deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) once again had a series of homophobic statements. During an interview on a podcast, the politician offended and expressed hatred towards people from the LGBTQIAPN+ community.
“Having a homosexual relationship, letting yourself be carried away by that desire, makes you move away from God’s will, just like drinking, lying, gluttony and gossip, which the Bible condemns”, he said.
Nikolas Ferreira even suggested ways to make LGBT+ people abandon their identities.
“The way to approach this has to be clearer, more transparent… I learned that the Lord came with grace and with truth. So, first he comes with grace and then with truth, but he never stopped bring the truth. And the truth confronts”, suggested.
He continued: “But there are ways you can tell a person that. You can’t go up and tell a person, ‘Oh, if you’re homosexual, you’re going to hell.’ There are ways of saying: ‘Look, your sin keeps you away, this is the Lord’s perfect plan, he died for you, he rose again, look what he did for you to be here. God wants to take care of you, this is what is happening to you It’s an illusion, it’s a lie, you’re being used by the Devil.’ It’s a way you approach a person.”
The deputy also reaffirmed that people in the community must repent of their identities.
“What cannot happen is for you to be silent on this and not convey the truth. We need to convey the truth while there is time, because I have seen people within the church saying something like this: ‘Ah, I am homosexual, what should I do? to do?’ People no longer talk about regret”, he said.
