Last Wednesday, the 4th, the singer used her social networks to clarify her fans’ doubts
Last Wednesday, 4th, Preta Gil shared a video on her social networks answering some of her followers’ questions about her ileostomy bag.
The singer said she received a lot of questions after sharing some bikini snaps with her bag exposed. In the caption of the publication, Preta wrote: “Loves, I came to answer some frequently asked questions about my ileostomy bag that I have received in the question boxes.”
“I’m not saying it’s easy! Yes, difficulties exist, but we can break prejudices towards people with stoma and normalize use. This little bag saves lives!”, she completed.
About the feeling of being a person with an ostomy, the singer said: “I feel blessed, because this bag saves lives. Imagine, you have a problem: cancer or any other gastrointestinal problem, and then you have a solution to your problem, which is the ileostomy or colostomy bag.”
“This is a miracle, a huge evolution in science, technology, medicine. So, I feel blessed to be able, during these three months, to use the bag so that my scar from my rectal surgery heals, heals and I can, in a month and a half, remove it”, he spoke.
The singer confirmed that she can eat anything, but there are some foods that are best avoided: “I can eat anything, but we have to have common sense. My nutritionist gave me a list of foods that normally loosen the intestines a lot. Fat, fried foods.”
“In my case, I was testing and seeing what loosened or tied up my intestines more. In my case, things with milk loosen a lot. And that’s not very good, that the feces become very liquid. The good thing is that it stays more pasty, but not hardened”, explained.
Preta also said that she would have a second surgery to remove the bag: “Yes, my second surgery is to remove the pouch and reconstruct my intestinal tract. This surgery is simpler, but my recovery afterward is also delicate and requires a lot of dedication.”
