“I’m a black, bisexual woman, I’ve just been cured of cancer”, says Preta Gil upon returning to the stage

On the night of the 14th, Preta Gil returned to the stage after spending almost a month in hospital to recover from surgery where she removed the tumor from her intestine.

The singer performed at Espaço Unimed, in São Paulo, with the “nós A Gente” tour, which brings together Gilberto Gil and family. During the presentation, Preta thanked her fans, friends and family for their support and affection.

“Surely this love that I have from you, from this beautiful family, has healed me”, she said during her speech.

“I am a black woman, bisexual, I have just been cured of cancer, I am single, I am the daughter of the immortal Gilberto Gil”, added the singer, visibly moved.

“I want to thank God immensely, firstly, my Orixás, my mother Oxum, who certainly healed me […] they guided these wonderful, talented doctors, Doctor Frederico, Doctor Fernanda and the entire team that took care of me”, continued.

“And to everyone who took care, who took turns, who came to visit me, who gave me love and affection. This love certainly healed me, I have no doubt. Thank you very much, I am very moved”, finished.
