Justice recognized the relationship of a trisal in Rio Grande do Sul as a stable union.
The 2nd Family and Probate Court of the Comarca of Novo Hamburgo, in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre declared that the polyaffective relationship between three people is considered a stable union.
In addition, the child that one of the women in the relationship is carrying will have the right to multiparental registration, that is, it will have the name of the father and the two mothers in its documentation.

“They wanted security and they found it in the form of marriage. Also because of the issue of care for each other and guarantees. As it is a long relationship, there is already a family dynamic, between friends and acquaintances. It was another step in their relationship”he said.
At first, they sought the registration in a notary, but the request was denied. The claim was that they had to get divorced to be able to propose.
With the court decision, the registry offices must accept the registration. In this way, the three will be married.
“What is recognized here is a single loving union between three people: a man and two women, coated with publicity, continuity, affection and with the objective of constituting a family and seeking happiness”, said the judge Gustavo Borsa Antonello in your decision.
The court decision also entitles the three members of the relationship to maternity and paternity leave.
