At the start of the war, the performer decided to switch to the Ukrainian language even in everyday life, as did his daughters.
Singer Olya Polyakova mentioned that she will no longer make hits in Russian. He announced it on the air of the Lviv wave.
According to him, with the outbreak of a large-scale war, everyone reconsidered the meaning of the state language.
“I would say that many people in Ukraine underestimate the weight of language. But when they want to take our land from us, cancel our nationality, deny our language, we, more than ever, want to be Ukrainians. I am not exception. I no longer use Russian. I can even say that I will never sing in Russian in my life,” she stressed.
In addition, the artist added that the authors of his songs are also moving to Ukrainian and are ready to work specifically for our audience. For example, his cult hit Slaps, Queen of the Night and others received a new sound.
It was previously reported that Olya Polyakova translated into Ukrainian a song she used to sing with Oleg Vinnik into Russian.
