New generation crossover: what attracts Mazda CX-30

Mazda CX-30 crossover is already available in Ukrainian showrooms of the brand and will offer many interesting things. What exactly?

The first feature worth paying attention to is the attractive youth of this crossover. Yes, Mazda has always been careful to modernize its models and knows how to change only what really needs to be changed. That is why, by the way, Mazda CX-5 and CX-9 remain interesting and relevant for a surprisingly long time.

But after all, in the Mazda model range there are such pearls that have not been processed by time, such as the CX-30. This is the first model of the new, seventh generation of Mazda crossovers, which is clearly indicated by an unusual index with two digits instead of one. And this is an ultra-modern model that will not require the efforts of either designers or engineers for a long time.

If the bright, attractive appearance and fast silhouette of the Mazda CX-30 do not require additional words, then practicality should be given special attention. First of all, it is a clearance of 180 mm, which allows you to feel confident even outside paved roads. And secondly, a very serious and strong plastic body kit that reliably protects the thresholds, the lower part of the door and the wheel arches of the Mazda CX-30. By the way, you won’t find that much protective plastic on any other Mazda model. Although, like other brand crossovers, the CX-30 offers a choice of both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

But the choice of engines, unlike, say, the Mazda CX-5, is not here. Under the hood of the CX-30 is a reliable Mazda SKYACTIV-G two-liter gasoline engine (150 hp), combined with a 6-speed automatic, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Despite the presence of an automatic transmission, this crossover needs only 5-6 liters on the highway, and in the city there is no significant increase in fuel consumption.

But what appeals most to everyone is the fact that the Mazda CX-30 is flawlessly equipped. Even in the initial configurations, this crossover has what others have to offer just above!

For example, the starting front-wheel-drive Style package (from UAH 1,090,800) will offer a color projection display that shows the most relevant information for the driver directly on the windshield. The style will also have factory tinting, a heated leather steering wheel with depth and tilt adjustment, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights with washers, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera …

The list of what the owner of even the first configuration of the Mazda CX-30 receives is too large to list them all. We only noticed the unconditional presence of an 8.8-inch central display with Apple CarPlay Android Auto, because it is the CX-30 multimedia system that can be compared to the multimedia of some other brand crossovers in its speed.

In the next Executive configuration (from UAH 1,159,200), all-wheel drive, which is not offered in Style, and leather interior trim will appear. And even if it is real leather combined with artificial, the quality of the latter is not satisfactory.

After mentioning the interior leather and all-wheel drive in the second of the four trim levels of the Mazda CX-30, the question may arise: why remember the other levels of equipment if everything you need is already there?

But you have to remember, because there is no limit to perfection. If you want LED daytime running lights and LED taillights, welcome to the next equipment levels, Black Edition (from UAH 1,213,200) and Premium (from UAH 1,288,800).

In addition to the above, there will be adaptive LED headlights with automatic high beam switching, and adaptive cruise control. Also, both “top” configurations are safety experts: the base systems will be complemented by a set of active safety systems I-ACTIVSENSE, which helps the Mazda CX-30 driver feel like a fish in water in a stormy and moving environment. I-ACTIVSENSE carefully analyzes the surrounding area and helps avoid unwanted contact not only with other vehicles, but also with pedestrians and cyclists. The assistance of I-ACTIVSENSE significantly reduces the burden on the driver.

The Black Edition, as you might guess from the name, is designed for fans of black. The Mazda CX-30 in this configuration gets black side mirrors and black wheels. Instead, the Premium package will offer a Bose audio system, and this, you will see, is a very interesting alternative.

A good Mazda CX-30 rides carefully without age. The nature of the 150-horsepower engine is not incendiary, but it is enough for everyday life. This crossover is made not to surprise others with stunt cornering, but to please yourself with ease of control, comfort of suspension, quietness of the cabin and flawless operation of auxiliary systems. And he is able to fully cope with this task. And most importantly, the Mazda CX-30 is in showrooms – come and buy at no extra charge for color.
