Russia has resumed air communications with Georgia. On May 19, the first plane from Moscow landed at Tbilisi airport. The flight was operated by the Russian airline Azimuth.
Ukrainian blogger Aleksey Durnev responded to the fact that Georgia resumed flights to Russia. He announced it on Insta-stories.
In particular, the artist said that he does not understand how the Georgian people allow the continuation of flights to the occupying country. In fact, in 2008, the Russians attacked them, and on August 26, Russia officially recognized South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states.
“Dear people, today for the first time in four years a Russian airline plane flew to Tbilisi. Honestly, I don’t understand how this could happen. Russia has invaded Georgia twice, twice annexed the territory of Georgia,” he said.
The blogger said that he personally knows people who survived the Russian invasion and are in cities where hostilities are actively taking place.
“I don’t understand what’s going on. Now, for some reason, the Georgians allow the Russians to fly to them, they accept them. I don’t understand it,” concluded Alexey Durnev.
It was previously reported that in Tbilisi on the evening of Tuesday, May 16, protests were held against the resumption of direct flights between Russia and Georgia.
