The monarch has been diagnosed with an infection that needs to be treated and will therefore remain in the hospital for several days.
Norwegian king Harald V is hospitalized due to an infection. This was stated on Monday in a press release from the royal court.
“His Majesty is on sick leave and has been admitted to the National Clinic. The King has been diagnosed with an infection that needs treatment and will remain in hospital for a few days. His condition is stable,” the statement said.
In all likelihood, the king will take part in the celebration of Norway’s Liberation Day from German occupation and National Veterans Day, which is celebrated on May 8.
However, it is known that, due to illness, he will not be present at the solemn ceremony, which is traditionally held in the medieval fortress of Akershus in Oslo.
Hereditary Prince Haakon will take part in this event.
Let’s add, the king is 86 years old. Before that, he was admitted to a medical facility in August 2022. Also due to infection.
It will be recalled that last year the eldest daughter of King Harald V of Norway and Queen Sonja, 50-year-old Princess Martha Louise, announced her engagement to the 47-year-old African American Durek Verrett, a sixth generation shaman.
