It is one of the most popular games in the world. According to various estimates, in Russia it is played by three to four million people, mostly young people.
The Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat created a room with reports about the war in Ukraine in one of the most popular online games in Russia, Counter-Strike. This was reported by The Guardian.
Players are shown Russian strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine and massacres in Bucha, Kyiv region, during the Russian occupation.
This project was created to bypass censorship in the Russian Federation and convey factual information about the war to the inhabitants of the aggressor country.
“May 3 is World Press Freedom Day. It’s not in Russia. Helsingin Sanomat is blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation. However, we have come up with a very original way to tell the truth about the war to Russian youth. Unlike of many media, computer games have not been banned in Russia”, – said the authors of the project.
A room stylized as a typical place in a post-Soviet city – in one of the basements under eternal fire, reports in Russian are posted on the walls, became available on May 2 .It has been opened more than two thousand times.
Recall that at first there was the most expensive purchase of weapon skins in the history of the computer game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The creator of Counter-Strike is suspected of molesting minors
