The next hybrid solar eclipse will occur in North America on November 14, 2031.
A hybrid solar eclipse is a rare astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, but does not completely block the Sun’s light. Instead, a mixed image of the solar eclipse appears in the sky, showing a total eclipse and an annular eclipse.
This is because the Earth is located near the place in the orbit where the Moon is at its maximum distance from our planet. If the Moon were closer to Earth, it would block most of the Sun’s light and there would be a total eclipse. If the Moon is farther from Earth than in a hybrid eclipse, the eclipse will be an annular eclipse where the Moon is in the center of the Sun but smaller than the Sun and so the light is reflected at the edges.
Hybrid solar eclipses are very rare and can only be observed in a few places on the earth’s surface.
According to Live Science, this year’s Blackout will start at 23:34 Kyiv time on April 19 and end at 4:59 on April 20. The duration will be 1 minute 16 seconds.
Where will the solar eclipse be seen?
The solar eclipse will be visible from the southeastern Indian Ocean, Australia, East Timor, Indonesia and the western Pacific.
