After the elimination of Sarah Aline with 58.2% of the votes, a new dispute for leadership placed Ricardo Alface in the top 5 of brothers competing for the grand prize of the show. On the other hand, Domitila Barros was not very lucky during the test and, unanimously, was nominated by the house to the wall.

Childhood and social causes
Born in the community of Morro da Conceição, Recife, on June 27, 1984, Domitila Barros de Oliveira Nascimento always had attentive eyes anddream to change the world. Daughter of Roberta Bastos and Ademilson Nascimento, founders of the NGO CAMM (Center for Assistance to Boys and Girls), she has been involved with social causes since childhood.
Committed to helping children and adolescents at risk, Domitila taught at the NGO created by her parents and, at just 15 years old, she was recognized by UNESCO with the ‘Millennium Dreamers’ award. Throughout her life, she continued to dedicate herself to social causes and, in 2006, graduated in Social Work from the Catholic University of Pernambuco (Unicap). At the same time, she got a scholarship to do a master’s degree in Germany, where she defended her thesis in four languages.
From Recife to the world
While living in Germany, Domitila began her career as an actress and model. For three years, she participated in the German soap opera “Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten“, aired on RTL Television. “I was the hotel receptionist. It’s like here [no Brasil]the soap opera [tem] multiple cores. My core was the core of love… it was a couple. Everything that happened in romance was in this core. It was a couple who opened a hotel that received students from all over Europe. As I had an accent, it had to be a role that made sense…”, she said at BBB 23.
Despite being a supporting actor in the plot, the actress said that he shot a lot of scenes and participated in different activities to get into character. “I shot three to four scenes a week… Every scene had lines […]. The first scene starts recording [às] eight in the morning and it ends [às] seven o’clock… It’s a whole day; and that’s why I learned to memorize text. There you can only make a mistake once”, said Domitila.
Sustainable and social activism
Thinking about helping the Morro da Conceição community, she created the brand ‘She Is From The Jungle’, a brand of handmade biojewels produced by single mothers who live in the periphery. The jewelry is produced with sustainable materials by women who can work from home while taking care of their children. In addition, product sales help the CAMM project by donating school kits and computers. Due to her commitment to changing the reality of the favelas, in 2020, Domitila was elected by the North American magazine Formidable Woman as one of the most influential women in the world.
Musical career
In 2021, the activist also embarked on Musical career and partnered with American rapper Teeyno. Splitting the vocals into ‘Girl With Those Curls’, she also recorded a clip with the singer, in Dubai, singing in Portuguese and dancing. “Wow, what a dream!! When Teeyno invited me to this feat I freaked out !!”, wrote the artist at the time, in a post on Instagram.
miss germany
On February 19, 2022, she competed in the final of the ‘Miss Germany’ contest with ten other finalists. She won the competition and was named the first immigrant and black woman to earn the belt. “It’s too much emotion. I’m very happy, but I can’t stop crying. My people, what is this?!”, said the model at the time in an interview with Bom Dia Pernambuco.
New projects
Even confined to the most guarded house in Brazil, Domitila never ceases to surprise her fans. This time, the sister was announced as part of the movie’s cast German ‘Der Pfau’ (‘The Peacock’, in English). In the feature, she plays Indira and makes a romantic pair with actor Lutz Heineking, with whom she lives a mysterious adventure after a series of murders. The production will also be screened at the ‘Cannes Festival’ in May.
