A new generation of consoles is not expected. The company will improve on previous models, an insider said.
Sony plans to release a new game console, but it won’t be a new series of gamepads. Tech4Gamers reported it.
According to insider Jeff Grubb, it will be a regular portable console with support for streaming games hosted in the cloud.
The latter was released in early 2011, and in 2014 the company launched the PS Now platform.
Such cloud streaming is supported by PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
“Sony could use this experience to enter the cloud-based handheld market while avoiding the huge risks associated with creating new handheld hardware like the PSP and PS Vita,” the source said.
Remember that earlier the characteristics of the PlayStation 5 were compared to the Xbox Series X.
