Karol Resende, influencer, makeup artist and beauty specialist, gave tips on how not to make mistakes when making up
Everyone loves a good make-up, but sometimes, when we’re in a hurry or due to lack of technique, we tend to make a few mistakes. But this is all quite normal and easy to fix, at least that’s what the influencer, makeup artist and beauty expert, Karol Resendeit says.
Thinking about it, she separated some common mistakes and how to fix them, to rock the makeup.
1. Not preparing the skin
There’s a super common mistake, 7 out of 10 people don’t prepare their skin before putting makeup on top, and that results in carquelated foundation, reduced durability, oily skin, and many other things.
What to do: Wash your face with soap specific to your skin type, apply moisturizer and then a primer.
2. Not using the right products
Another very common thing is to buy a type of product that does not match your skin, such as a foundation for dry skin, since your skin is oily.
What to do: For dry or mature skin, use liquid and cream formulas. As for oily skin, drier formulas and with actives that help to hold this oiliness.
3. Use a very light concealer
The concealer is often used to hide dark circles, but if it is in the wrong color, it will clash with the rest of the makeup.
What to do: It’s pretty simple, actually. First, you need to understand what you are going to use that product for: more coverage, lighting or contouring?
For more coverage: a shade close to your own; To lighten: one shade lighter than yours; For contour: one shade darker than yours.
4. Abusing face powder
Sealing the skin is great for making makeup last, but if you don’t weigh it down in face powder, it can build up and give your skin an aged look.
What to do: The finer the powder, the better the finish. Use a compact powder in the areas under the eyes and a looser one for the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin).
5. Outline that does not favor the shape of your face
Eyelids have different formats and it’s ok. There are several ways to highlight your eyes with eyeliner, you just have to know which one to use.
What to do: Test them all! It’s no joke, you’ll only know if you test each one of them.
6. Matte lipstick on dry lips
Our lips are often dry and matte lipstick tends to make this clear.
What to do: Moisturize your lips with lip regenerator and you’ll soon be able to use matte lipsticks again.
7. Wear expired makeup
“Ah, but that’s okay, it won just a year ago”. Yes he has! Our face is very sensitive and using expired products can cause irritation, allergies or pimples.
What to do: Properly dispose of the expired product and replace it with a new one.
