Dr. Fernanda Nichelle taught how to take care of the skin after overindulging in drinks
Carnival is over and our skin also suffers from the effects of drunkenness during the festive season.
To detoxify our complexions, Dr. Fernanda Nichellea physician who works exclusively in the aesthetic area, commented on the famous “skin hangover”.
“The skin becomes dry, dark circles and bags under the eyes are more evident. This is because the consumption of alcoholic beverages accelerates the dehydration of the skin tissue, oxidation and the production of free radicals, leaving the skin dull.”, said the expert.
Dr. Fernanda spoke about the effects of alcohol on the skin and if there is any request that makes the damage less.
“Alcohol in general alters the immune system and favors the development of dermatitis and allergies. But if you have to opt for a drink, there are some drinks with a lower sugar content such as vodka or gin. Sugar is also present in fermented products such as beer – causes a swollen face, as it increases water retention, usually associated with gluten – and distillates such as whiskey.”, commented.
The doctor taught what to do to ease these effects of ‘Hangover Skin’: “To help cure these symptoms, it’s important to drink plenty of pure water. No teas or actives that could further promote dehydration. Application of cold compresses, facial massage or the use of jade rollers can help in the process of combating swelling. A tip : put the jade roller in the refrigerator before the facial massage”.
Finally, the expert even taught a homemade face mask that helps deal with the issue:
HYDRATION MASK:
Ingredients:
– Unflavored full-fat frozen yogurt
– 1/2 avocado
How to use:
– Blend the 2 ingredients in a blender and apply to a clean face.
– Let it act for 20 minutes and rinse.
– Afterwards, dip your face into a container with water and ice and count to three, repeating 5 times.
