The Hollywood star called Putin a war criminal, adding that it’s easier to talk to a wall than him.
American actor, film director and producer Sean Penn, speaking at a press conference for his documentary Superpower, called the Kremlin leader “a horrible little hooligan” and a “war criminal”. Screendaily reported this.
In particular, at the event, the Hollywood star was asked what he likes and dislikes about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is the main character of the film.
“I don’t like the creepy little bully threatening him (Zelensky – ed.) and his country. I like that there is no threat that scares Zelensky or the Ukrainians,” answered the actor.
He later refused to name Putin, in response to a question calling him a “war criminal”.
“Already at the stage of filming, it became clear that attempts to contact the Russian authorities would not bear fruit. It is better for us to talk to the wall than to the President of the Russian Federation,” Sean Penn added .
It is worth noting that the film Superpower tells about the events of the past year in Ukraine, starting with the Russian invasion on February 24 and ending with the recent missile attack.
Earlier it was reported that Sean Penn spoke about the first meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Sean Penn’s documentary about the war in Ukraine will be shown at the Berlinale
