“With heart in hand”

The presenter was off on the coast and hurriedly returned home after experiencing symptoms of Covid-19

On Tuesday, the 21st, Ana Maria Braga took a break from his slack and came up with More you through a video call to talk about the tragedy that hit the North Coast of São Paulo, where she was enjoying the Carnival holiday.

The presenter managed to return to São Paulo, but her daughter and granddaughters are still in Barra do Sahy, one of the places hardest hit by the rain. The disaster destroyed several cities on the coast of São Paulo and left 44 people dead and more than 40 missing.

“I’m here with my heart in my hand, because part of my family, Mariana (daughter) and the children are there in Barra do Sahy without being able to leave yet. Now that telephony has been established and we can exchange ideas, but everything is missing there: water, supermarket”, she told.

“It was really scary. It was a rain that starts with a little wind and then increases and the rain doesn’t stop. It rained the whole night. You could see everyone’s desperation on both sides.”, he said.

“I woke up early and said: ‘we’re out of communication, we’re out of nothing’. I had nothing to do. I only had the images from the satellite television that I could see the national news.”, he spoke.

“I’ve known this region for many years, when Rio Santos was still a dirt road, when there wasn’t a defined road yet. I saw all this happen and this disorderly growth, condominiums began to appear on the edge of the beaches.”, said.

“The Serra do Mar, the Atlantic Forest there is basically composed of stones. The mountains are stones and have a thin layer of earth there. And that’s why it’s easy for what happened to happen.”, added.

Ana said that she tried to return to the capital after discovering that there was a passage through Toque-Toque: “It was a trip that scared us a lot, because there were a lot of stones and could keep falling. We stayed almost 7 hours to get to São Sebastião, and from São Sebastião to take Tamoios. Tamoios is fine, it’s open.”.

In addition to the troubles on the coast, the presenter also said that she has Covid-19, but with mild symptoms. On her social networks, Ana reassured her fans: “This was a difficult weekend. I was on the north coast of São Paulo and I could see up close the destruction that was. A very sad thing. My condolences and prayers are with you there on the coast.”

“I will be absent from Mais Você for a few more days because I was diagnosed with COVID for the 3rd time. Everything is fine with me. I felt the flu at night and when I took the test I found out that I was positive for COVID-19. Unfortunately, this disease is still around for there.”, she continued

“It’s not like the first COVID I had. I feel it’s weaker because I’m vaccinated. I hope those who haven’t had the vaccine will get one. It doesn’t even compare now with the first time I had it. Take care. See you soon.”, finished.
