While the musicians of the Antitila group defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders, millions of hryvnias were illegally demanded from them. This was reported on the team’s Instagram page.
It is known that a resident of Lutsk Sergey Lapkovsky, in collusion with patent attorneys of Volyn, lawyers and a music expert, composer Timozhinsky, patented “One note” and the physical properties its sound. Through an appeal, they tried to recover millions of hryvnias from the Antibody group for the alleged use of this patent on three tracks.
However, on February 6, 2023, the Kiev Court of Appeal decided to leave the plaintiff’s complaint without consideration.
“Sure of this whole process was more surprised in July 2022, when members of the Antibody group were in one of the hottest war zones in the north of the Kharkiv region, the troll Lapkovsky at that moment was writing statements in court about the “Change in the subject matter of the claim”, trying to increase his earnings pegged to the new dollar exchange rate, which reached $40,350. And in subsequent statements, he already called this amount that “his lost income,” where he signed up in 2031 and reached $52,050,” the group said in a statement.
So, the team filed a counterclaim against Lapkovsky to cancel the effect of the corresponding patent.
Antibody is also trying to cancel this patent so that Ukrainian musicians can create freely.
