Ford has announced the complete phase-out of petrol and diesel cars

By 2026, all European Ford models will have an electric or plug-in hybrid version. And after 2030, internal combustion engines will remain only in a number of Ford commercial and truck models in Europe.

Automaker Ford plans to completely stop selling passenger cars with gasoline and diesel engines in Europe. This will happen before 2030, according to Automotive News Europe.

The concern will gradually shift to electric vehicles.

It is noted that in this segment, 2/3 of the cars will be electric cars or rechargeable hybrids.

About $2 billion will be invested in restructuring the production process, in particular, the modernization of Ford’s main European plant in Cologne and about 1,000 workers will be laid off.

Also, in connection with this, some models will be discontinued. In particular, the Ford Focus and Fiesta.

Outside of Europe, the petrol and diesel Ford will not leave the market.
