The phrase that the aggressor country Russia invaded Ukraine was never heard on the competition stage.
Ukrainian model and Miss Ukraine Universe 2022 Victoria Apanasenko said that she is forbidden to remember the war in the show. He admitted this in an interview for KP.UA.
At the same time, according to Apanasenko, many foreign journalists are interested in the situation in our country.
“Some journalists even asked if the war is over, which surprised me a lot. I told the stories of specific people, showed photos from the Kyiv region, from places where I was personally. Asked they about my road, because it’s a strange story for the competition. I was amazed that I was traveling for three days, partially under the shell, alone with heavy suitcases,” said Victoria.
In the competition, the phrase that Russia is waging a full-scale war against Ukraine is unheard of.
“The phrase that Russia invaded Ukraine was never heard on the stage of the competition. I had an hour and a half interview, but they only took a small piece of my volunteering. In addition, I was awarded one of the four special award – the Spirit of Carnival Award. The other girls were invited on stage to present the award at the final, but not me. They recorded a video with me the day before the final. I thought it was a test video, and then it was shown on the broadcast. But they didn’t give me a microphone,” said Apanasenko.
He also wanted to tell from the stage about the tragedy on the Dnieper, which happened only on the day of the final.
“But I thought that I would be invited on stage for the presentation of the award, and I could say something from the stage. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. I’m very sorry, it hurts me. They didn’t even give me 20 seconds. I couldn’t have asked for more I really wanted to remind a large audience on the air that the war is on,” summed up Victoria.
Recall that earlier Apanasenko commented on the participation in the show of Russian Anna Linnikova.
