Rock guitarist Jeff Beck has died at the age of 78. The BBC reported it.
It is known that the musician passed away on January 10, the cause of which was a bacterial infection.
Beck’s death was confirmed on his official Twitter page.
“On behalf of the family, it is with deep sadness that we share the news of the death of Jeff Beck. After being suddenly infected with bacterial meningitis, he passed away yesterday. His family needs privacy while they experience this huge loss,” the said the message.
It is noted that the musician was born in 1944 in London. As a child, he sang in the church choir, as a teenager he began to play the guitar.
Jeff Beck gained his first fame in the 1960s when he became a member of The Yardbirds. After a while, he created his own rock band The Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart and Ron Wood.
Also, the musician is a four-time winner of the Grammy Award, in 1990, according to the results of a poll by the Observer newspaper, he was recognized as the greatest guitarist in the world.
