The first month of the year arrives with several releases and renewals on Netflix. One of the most anticipated sequences, in particular, is the second season of the series “Ginny and Georgia”, which promises great news to fans. But, for those who like mystery, the new Brazilian production “Olhar Indiscreto” is a great option.
In the movies category, the highlight goes to the comedy “Essa Gente”, with actor Eddie Murphy. Another feature that promises is “The Pale Blue Eye”, with a story full of mysteries and in which the author and poet Edgar Allan Poe is presented.
1. Prying Eye (01/01)
THE story narrates the life of Miranda (Débora Nascimento), a voyeur and a very skilled hacker who spends her days watching, through her window, the routine of Cléo (Emanuelle Araújo), a luxury escort who lives in the building opposite her. One day, Cléo asks Miranda to take care of her dog while she spends a few days away and, from that point on, the hacker becomes involved in a dangerous love triangle with many mysteries. The cast also includes Nikolas Antunes, Ângelo Rodrigues, Gabriela Moreyra, Gabriella Muglia, Sacha Bali and Gustavo Machado.
2. Ginny and Georgia – Season 2 (05/01)

THE seriestells the story of 15-year-old Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry) and her mother Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey). Season two begins shortly after Ginny runs away with her younger half-brother Austin (Diesel La Torraca) after discovering her mother’s secret. “Charged with the new understanding that Kenny – her stepfather – did not die of natural causes, now Ginny must deal with the fact that Georgia didn’t just kill, she killed to protect Ginny,” reveals the synopsis.
3. The Pale Blue Eye (06/01)

The film, based on the novel bestseller by Louis Bayard, tells the story of a series of murders that took place in 1830 at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Augustus Landor (Christian Bale), a retired detective, is tasked with investigating the mysterious crime of one of the Academy’s cadets. However, with the institution’s code of silence, he ends up asking for help from one of the students, who would later go down in history as Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling). The cast also features Gillian Anderson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lucy Boynton, Toby Jones, among other actors.
4. That’90s Show (01/19)

This is a series derived from “That ’70s Show”, which ended more than 15 years ago. It is set in the 90s and accompanies Leia Forman, daughter of Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon), protagonists of the first production. On her summer vacation, the girl visits her grandparents Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith). There, she meets new teenage friends and together they live many adventures. “That ’90s Show” has 10 new episodes.
5. These People (01/27)

The comedy tells story of a couple who, to celebrate their love, decide to organize a family dinner. However, they have to deal with conflicting cultures, social expectations and other differences that permeate their lives. The cast consists of Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Lauren London, David Duchovny, Nia Long, Sam Jay, Elliott Gould, among others, and the feature is directed by Kenya Barris.
