Jamala read the lines of the Ukrainian song at the Kennedy Center awards in the United States

The performer Jamala, in his speech at the 45th Kennedy Center Awards ceremony in the USA, quoted the lines of the Ukrainian anthem. He posted a corresponding video on Instagram.

“I still didn’t realize that this happened. For the first time in history, at the 45th Kennedy Center Honor ceremony, and in fact, in this hall, lines from the Anthem of Ukraine were performed with a special version of the song “Walk On” by U2. Brandy Carlisle and Hozier this moment I will never forget. Thank you for feeling that we are not alone in this fight for freedom. In Bono’s words: “When I listened to you sing, I flew into space,” he wrote.

It is noteworthy that the performer attended a gala dinner in Washington in early December, where he met with Hollywood actors, as well as the Secretary of State of the United States.
