This is the band’s first composition in 28 years. The leader of the group gathered all the musicians to support the Ukrainians.
The British rock band Pink Floyd, thanks to the recording of a cover version of the song Oy u luzi chervona viburnum, raised more than 600 thousand pounds in support of Ukraine. The musicians announced it on Facebook.
It was noted that the band’s fans donated more than 450 thousand pounds sterling for the single Hey, Hey, Rise Up, and band members David Gilmour and Nick Mason added funds, increasing the amount to 500 thousand pounds (more than 600 thousand dollars).
This money will be divided and sent to charity.
“They will be distributed to the following humanitarian organizations: Medical Volunteer Hospitaller Battalion, The Kharkiw and Premyśl Project, Vostok SOS, Kyiv Volunteer and Left Bank,” the report said.
It was previously reported that Pink Floyd musician Roger Waters wrote an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
