“Friday of passion more than special for me”: wrote the journalist Cid Moreira, in the caption of a post on his Instagram about a victory related to his health. In a video published on this holiday on March 15, Cid appears hospitalized and conscious, informing that he removed the catheter. “It’s ok. I didn’t feel anything. The doctor is very good”he said.
AT 94, CID MOREIRA IS FREE FROM HEMODIALYSIS
About a year ago, the great voice of Brazilian journalism discovered a kidney problem. After the diagnosis, Cid Moreira had to undergo several dialysis. The procedure was carried out at home, with equipment suitable for the treatment. Always by his side, his wife Fátima Sampaio helped him with the process.
When the kidneys function with less than 10% of their normal function to eliminate toxic substances from the body and filter the blood, dialysis may be the treatment indicated by doctors, depending on the case of each patient.
However, at the age of 94, Cid Moreira announced and celebrated that is hemodialysis free. “All other challenges become small when we have the strength and faith to continue our trajectory”, wrote. His wife also vibrated Cid’s health status: “Soon this tape will come off and a new stage in our life will come”. The journalist also reported that he is already recovering at home.: “one day at a time”said, in the caption.
