Gilbert Gottfried67, the legendary comedian and actor, known for roles such as ‘The Little Plague’ and ‘Dr. Dolittle’passed away this Tuesday, April 12.
The statement was made on Gottfried’s Twitter, written by the artist’s family: “In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to their two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please continue to laugh as loudly as possible in honor of Gilbert”.

According Glenn Schwartzpublicist and longtime friend of the actor, Gilbert Gottfried fell victim to a rare genetic muscle disorder that can trigger a dangerously abnormal heartbeat.
The actor struggled for a few years with the condition, said his family, who did not disclose the diagnosis.
“The first comedian I saw that would go on and every other comic would go into the living room to watch it”lamented the comedian Colin Quinn on Twitter, as so many other colleagues have done.
