American researchers report in this Wednesday’s journal Nature Coping strategies for adolescent school stress. The therapy developed by these psychologists at the University of Texas (Austin) can, they say, be used as a preventive measure on a large scale and at a lower cost. It consists of a thirty-minute training module to be followed online. Tested with 4,200 13- to 22-year-olds in a variety of contexts, the intervention improved “Their psychological well-being, academic success, and symptoms of anxiety during the 2020 spring lockdown in relation to Covid-19.”the researchers write.
