On April 15, 2019, the roof of the Cathedral of Our Lady collapsed under fire. An orange plume was soaring in the sky of Paris and along with it the lead of the roof of the building. The leakage of these metal particles in the capital was a serious health hazard. Lead poisoning, also called lead poisoning, can have very serious consequences, especially in children, with neurological effects and developmental delays. Studies conducted immediately after the fire in the capital’s honeys also found abnormally high levels. The Ile-de-France regional health agency (ARS) has organized 1,200 screenings in schools in regions affected by smoke since June 2019. Although 13 cases of lead poisoning were identified, all were related to exposure to lead independent of fire.
