The film is scheduled for release in Brazilian cinemas on May 5th, and will feature the Sorcerer Supreme facing the consequences of opening the Multiverse, with the help of Scarlet Witch and Wong.
Just through the title, it is already possible to anticipate a little more about what could happen in the new plot. However, according to the producer Richie Palmerthe name of the feature has many more meanings than we can imagine.
“We honor every definition of the word ‘madness’ in this film. For example, it’s not just the insanity of how an alternate universe looks, sounds, or makes you feel. It’s when you discover infinite versions of yourself and you’re a different person from In some universes, a facet of you can reach the top”, explained Palmer during an interview with D23 Magazine.
Furthermore, palmer also revealed that the presence of other versions of Doctor Strange in the film can make the character raise endless questions about his personality – something that would drive anyone crazy.
“Maybe Stephen meets one of these guys and asks himself, ‘Am I capable of doing what he does? Are they capable of doing what I do?’ This can be maddening. Seeing versions of you making decisions you wouldn’t make, for better or worse, is maddening for Doctor Strange, for Wanda and any character. […] Sometimes the scariest monsters dwell within us. With the multiverse, some versions are more monstrous than others.”
