Departed “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah said goodbye to the beloved late-night show after seven years Thursday night.
Noah, who replaced Jon Stewart as the show’s host, addressed fans – and haters – in an emotional farewell episode in which his co-hosts handed him props one last time.
His farewell speech focused on honoring black women, especially his mother, grandmother, aunt and others who have shown him love over the years.
“If you really want to know America, you talk to black women,” she said.
“Because unlike anyone else, black women can’t afford to fuck off and find out. Black people understand how difficult it is when things go wrong, especially in America, but anywhere there are black people.”
Noah continued, “When things go wrong, black people know it’s getting worse for them. But black women especially really know what shit is.
Talking to black women, she said, could guide people looking for the best way to do something with their lives.
Comedy Central has not yet named a new host or hosts for the show.
