For the first time in history, viewers from non-participating countries will be able to vote for participants in the semi-finals.

The European Broadcasting Union has announced changes to the voting system for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. This is stated on the show’s official website.

Innovations have to do with voting in the semi-finals. The panel decided that for the first time in history, viewers from non-participating countries will be able to vote for the participants in the semi-finals. Voting itself will take place online, according to the Eurovision website.

In the final, to determine the Eurovision winner, the votes of a professional jury will be added to the audience’s votes.

“Throughout its 67-year history, the Eurovision Song Contest has constantly changed to remain relevant and exciting. These changes confirm the great popularity of the show, providing more opportunities for viewers of the biggest live music event in the world. In 2023, only the viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest will decide which countries will advance to the Grand Final and because of the global impact of the event, everyone watching the show, wherever they live, can vote for their favorite songs,” said Eurovision Executive Supervisor Martin. Österdal.

Remember that Montenegro and North Macedonia will not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
