Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are “taking a break” after two years together, sources close to the couple told People and Page Six on Friday.
Discussing the news with People, an unidentified source said that the singer and the director are “still very good friends” and that they made a “very amicable decision.”
“He’s still touring and now going overseas,” while Wilde is “focusing on his kids and his job in Los Angeles,” the insider told the magazine.
Another friend of the couple who spoke to People similarly described “different priorities that keep them apart.”
A source also told Page Six that Styles and Wilde have been in a “split,” saying there’s no “bad blood” between the pair and that neither side has dumped the other. “This is the longest relationship Harry has ever had, so they clearly have a special bond,” the source said.
Representatives for Styles and Wilde did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
Earlier this week, Wilde was spotted attending Styles’ show in Los Angeles with daughter Daisy, 6, and son Otis, 8, her children with ex-boyfriend Jason Sudeikis.
Styles and Wilde were first linked in January 2021 after they were photographed holding hands at a friend’s wedding, People reported.
The pair rarely spoke publicly about their union, and Wilde told Variety in August that this was because he “never saw a relationship benefit from being dragged into the public arena”.
She added: ‘We’re both trying to protect our relationship; I think it comes from experience, but also from deep love.”
However, the relationship was not without drama, much of it centered around the filming of Don’t Worry Darling, the film the two were working on when they first started dating.
In addition, Wilde dealt with Sudeikis providing him with legal documents during the film’s presentation at CinemaCon 2022.
“The public pressure on them was tough,” Styles and Wilde’s friend told People. “They had their ups and downs during the relationship.”
