Booked and Never Busy Again, Keke Palmer Finally Hosts ‘Saturday Night Live’

Live from New York, it’s your Saturday Night Live sweetheart, Keke Palmer.

Yes, someone at 30 Rock finally saw your tweets because after years of fan begging The late-night sketch series to book the multisyllabic entertainer as host makes its official debut.

The busy star, who recently starred in Jordan Peele’s sci-fi thriller Nope and Disney’s Lightyear, will co-host musical guest SZA on the December 3 episode.

“I wish you all,” she wrote after NBC made the announcement. “Guess what [who’s] host @nbcsnl? I’m so excited about the noise, I couldn’t do it without you.

The news was announced at the end of Saturday’s episode — the first to appear since the midterm elections — hosted by comedian Dave Chappelle.

“SNL” will take the rest of November for a short hiatus and then return with Palmer as host in December.

Palmer, who rose to fame as a child appearing on “Akeelah and the Bee” at just 11 years old before leading the Nickelodeon series “True Jackson, VP,” has more recently been known for her relentless work ethic.

When she’s not performing on Broadway, she’s releasing singles, hosting the third hour of “Good Morning America,” interviewing Vice President Kamala Harris, covering the carpet at the Met Gala, or launch your own networkhas built a film career with roles in “Scream Queens” and “Hustlers” that won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

Palmer is also beloved on social media for her wildly memetic interviews and impressions (see her showcasing some of those talents here), prompting many over the years to push for a gig hosting “SNL”.

He will appear in the upcoming Aziz Ansari-directed film, “Being Mortal,” as well as lend his vocal talents to the new seasons of Netflix’s “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” and “Human Resources.”

So naturally, when Palmer was confirmed as the host, his fans celebrated online.

SZA, who starred in the series in 2017, also shared her excitement about working with Palmer.

“I can’t believe this is happening,” the “Ctrl” singer wrote on Instagram. “I’m going to be stupid. See you soon in New York.
