Johnny Depp thanks Savage X Fenty founder Rihanna.
On Wednesday, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor took to social media to tease his appearance at the singer’s latest annual fashion show. This event marked Rihanna’s fourth fashion experience on Amazon Prime in 2019.
In his Instagram video, which has already amassed more than 9.5 million views, Depp poses against technicolor lights while wearing sunglasses, a partially unbuttoned button-down shirt and a series of silver chain necklaces.
“Thanks @badgalriri #SAVAGEFENTYSHOW Vol.4 Available now @primevideo“, he captioned the post.
During the 40 seconds appearance In “Savage X Fenty Vol. 4,” Depp — who made history as the first male celebrity to “judge” a Savage X Fenty show, for Variety and TMZ — modeled Rihanna’s latest menswear collection alongside “So” Fresh, so clean by Outkast.” “
With her hair pulled back in a ponytail and wearing her signature layered necklaces, the longtime actor strolled through a dark forest as fog machines flew by. A group of dancers joined him, and the Golden Globe winner hugged a tree at the end of his cameo.
A few days before the event, HuffPost confirmed who will make his first major in-person appearance at the event following his public court battle with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Rihanna’s move to include Depp in her show sparked a series of mixed reviews on Twitter.
“Can’t Rihanna be serious? With all these handsome and handsome men in Hollywood, is Johnny Depp the one you’re most attracted to? a user he wrote.
Others defended the Grammy winner, with one commenting that “he can have whoever he wants on his show.”
Earlier this year, a jury in Virginia award-winning Depp $15 million in damages in his defamation suit against Heard, who accused him of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Jurors also awarded Heard, who still claims Depp abused her, $2 million in damages in a lawsuit against the plaintiff.
The case against Heard centered on a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she claimed she was the victim of domestic abuse while married to Depp.
The editorial eventually led to Depp filing a libel suit against her for the damage done to her career by publishing the story.
“Show Savage X Fenty Vol. 4” comes just months after Depp went on the rampage dispute to do a virtual surprise appearance on MTV this year Music Video Awards as a signature of the Person of the Month ceremony.
In a pre-taped segment, the actor appeared virtually superimposed on the VMAs’ Moonman during the unexpected moment at the Prudential Center arena in Newark, New Jersey, in August.
That moment received mixed reviews, particularly from Heard’s sister Whitney Heard, who he slammed the net as “disgusting and clearly desperate” at the time.
“Savage X Fenty Vol. 4” is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
