Bulgaria, following Montenegro and North Macedonia, refused to participate in Eurovision 2023. The reason for this was the lack of funds. This was reported by the publication 24 hours.
It was noted that the broadcaster’s budget for next year was reduced by almost two million leva (over $1 million), while costs almost tripled.
In Bulgaria, it is felt that shows like the international song contest are not justified during the crisis across Europe, which has cut electricity and heating in public places.
It was previously reported that Montenegro and North Macedonia will not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
