The film will release this month. It consists of two series. It will be a prequel Johnny vs. Amberwhich chronicles Johnny’s 2020 defamation case against The Sun for the media’s claim that he beat his wife.

As you know, the 59-year-old Depp lost the case in the UK, but won in the US. This meeting was televised around the world. So, the star received a whole “army” of support in social networks.

According to a Discovery+ press release via NME, the docuseries will provide a forensic account of key evidence and turning points in the case from both sides, as well as a graphic look at the struggles within the tumultuous and chaotic A-list.

The series will include interviews with lawyers, reporters and Depp’s lawyers, and will explore both sides of the story.

According to media reports, the first episode highlights Depp’s lawsuit, which explores his abusive childhood and drug addiction to present an alternative version of events that reveals Johnny himself was a victim of -domestic abuse.

The second part of the series will focus on Heard’s side and her detailed description of the alleged sexual assault, told on camera for the first time. It will also talk about how Depp’s defenders attacked him mercilessly through social networks.

Depp sued Hurd, 36, for $50 million after a 2018 Washington Post article detailed her experience of sexual assault, despite not naming him in the article.

Hurd then filed a $100 million counterclaim against Depp for allegedly orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

After a six-week trial, a jury found Heard defamatory on all three counts, ordering her to award him $10 million in compensatory damages and another $5 million in punitive damages, the latter of which was reduced to the state law limit of $350,000.
