The National Union of Writers of Ukraine is in favor of closing the museum of the Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov in Kyiv and opening instead the museum of the Ukrainian composer Alexander Koshyts. It was reported to the NSPU.
“The secretariat of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine declared the inadmissibility of the functioning of the museum of the Russian writer M. Bulgakov in Kyiv, who hated Ukraine and despised it in his works,” the press service said.
So, the NSPU Secretariat proposes to create a museum of the outstanding Ukrainian composer Koshyts. He lived in this house until 1906.
“His merits as a Ukrainian cultural figure are very important not only for Ukraine, but for the whole world,” the Union added.
The director of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv, Lyudmila Gubianuri, has already responded to this call.
“The Union of Writers, in my opinion, did not use all their weapons. Before they start closing the Bulgakov Museum, they should start expelling Bulgakov from the Union of Writers and the removal of citizenship for anti-Soviet activities. is what they did during their rich history,” he said.
Recall that the Bulgakov Literary Memorial Museum in Kyiv was recognized as one of the twenty best literary museums in the world.
