Madame Figaro -.What is your definition of “forbidden”?
Rooney Mara. Forbidden is a concept that has puzzled people since the beginning of mankind. Eve and the apple – Plato and the cave. We can’t avoid it. As far as I’m concerned, if it can help you or humanity learn and grow, then you should dare the forbidden.
What is your relationship with perfume?
I think the perfume has a lot of power. Certain scents can evoke all kinds of memories and emotions. Personally, I like to wear perfume for special occasions. Or when I’m working on a film and I want the character I’m playing to smell a certain way.
How is this perfume, whose muse you are, similar to you?I identify with the fact that all the perfumes in the L’Interdit range are reminiscent of both the past and the future. They symbolize both the already traveled path and everything that remains to be done in order to break the boundaries, face the taboos, and move forward. These are perfumes steeped in history. they represent this very old flavor of audacity, but also very modern. I love the duality of this new eau de toilette, the fact that it is both intense and sober, floral and musky.
Smells and scents are the most powerful memory sensors in my eyes.
Rooney Mara
What are your first olfactory memories?
The smell of moths in my grandparents’ old house, the smell of horses and cows and the barn, the smell that old house has at the end of summer. The cologne of my first lover. I kept a small bottle of it when I was 15 and sniffed it regularly. The smell of first love. The smells associated with different seasons marked my memory. I love the fall season, although sometimes when it approaches the East Coast of the United States, it brings back bad memories, that dreaded feeling of dread when you know you have to go back to school.
Which smells make you feel better?
Types of sage, pine, lavender and rose.
You defy the ban of life.
There are many things that I personally would never do. But if I really felt like I was doing the right thing and someone tried to stop me from doing it, I wouldn’t let that stop me.
