The first Ukrainian monument to the territorial defense forces was erected in Irpin. It was reported to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“In honor of the volunteer soldiers who first defended the city of Irpen and did everything to repel the enemy from the north of the Kiev region, the city authorities placed the first memorial in Ukraine to the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together we will win!” – said in the message.
As you know, Irpen was almost destroyed by the Russians. In the early days of the war, the city was mainly defended by defense forces. Thus, the invaders could not approach Kyiv.
