A few days ago, the future ruler of Jordan, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, officially proposed marriage to his partner with a pear-cut diamond signed by Harry Winston.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, usually more reserved than the royal family of England or Spain, has been in the news several times in recent months. The engagement of the royal couple’s daughter, Princess Iman, to Venezuelan Jamel Alexandre Termiotis was on view, followed by the engagement of their eldest son, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, barely a few weeks later. The big announcement since the first of their four children has been Jordan’s official heir to the throne since 2009. The latter was previously supposed to go to the king’s half-brother, Prince Hamza, before he was deposed in favor of the eldest son of Queen Rania and King Abdullah II.
A separate ring
The prince, proposing to his companion Saudi Rajwa Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Seif, finally presents his kingdom to the future queen of Jordan. A solemn and carefully researched moment that highlighted the pear-shaped diamond on the young woman’s finger, cut by the New York house’s Harry Winston, as well as a pair of Stephen Webster earrings that Rania lent her beau-to-be.
A gesture reminiscent of the many precious eyes of Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton. If the wedding date is not yet known, we can already think about which tiara the future queen will choose from Rania of Jordan’s impressive collection. Probably Queen Alia Al Hussein’s Cartier model, which she wore for her husband’s enthronement in 1999… Case in point:
