An outfit, and specifically a pair of shoes, that she wore on a romantic night out with her partner in New York this Saturday, August 13. The Barbadian singer was actually spotted outside Emilio’s Ballato restaurant in the Big Apple in extremely high knee-high boots that left no one speechless. They come from Y-Project’s latest Spring-Summer 2023 presentation, which saw several versions of this model in different colorways. Rihanna chose them in a velvet version, in gray color, giving a “denim” effect to the whole thing.

On the @rihannaturkiyex Instagram page that lists Rihanna’s looks, which has nearly 443,000 followers, including the singer herself, the outfit has seen some success and plenty of controversial comments. “She’s beautiful”, “The shoes… Where can I have them?” Some of the subscribers under the post are excited. While others, more skeptically, are amused by the singer’s choice. “Aren’t these boots heavy for you?”, “Will he turn out like Kanye West?”, we can read. At the end of the Y-Project spring-summer 2023 presentation, designer Glenn Martens explained the inspiration and purpose of the season’s clothing. “We always try to invite our customers to enjoy the clothes and play with them.” One thing is for sure, the message got through for Rihanna.
