Stephen Colbert set the record after a Donald Trump supporter sentenced him to 90 days in prison for participating in the U.S. Capitol uprising.
Jason Riddle, who confiscated a bottle of wine and a book stolen during Trump’s attacks on Jan. 6, 2021, filed a lawsuit this week in court saying Colbert “made me an enemy of the state up front of broken people. ” On CNN.
“Well, that’s not true. That is not true, ”Kolber said on Thursday. “I did not call him an enemy of the state. This is a further review. “
The Late Show host released a tape in June last year of what he actually called a riddle: “A New Hampshire resident and a boy are teaching a cryptocurrency class from his mother’s basement.”
The comedian later corrected the description: “A New Hampshire resident and a boy are teaching a lesson in cryptocurrency from prison.”
