In 2021, the film How’s Katya? became a winner of the promotion program from the Ukrainian Institute.

At the international film festival in Locarno, the premiere of the Ukrainian film How’s Katya, directed by Kristina Tinkevich, took place. The press service of the State Film Agency reported this on Facebook.

The film, which tells the story of an ambulance doctor who seeks justice in an imperfect world, will compete for the award of the Concorso Cineasti del presente competition program with 14 other films.

It was noted that the world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival, once again told the world about the war in Ukraine.

“We presented our film on a powerful international platform after a long journey of difficulties and obstacles. First, the coronavirus pandemic. Then, the big war in Ukraine. But through all this, Ukrainian cinema continues that lives and thrives. Our film is not about the war, but it raises the topic of losing a loved one – and this is what, unfortunately, many Ukrainians are facing today. And the international community, which watching the film, felt it,” said Olga Matat, the film’s producer.

Earlier it was reported that the official trailer for the film Bloody Oil, which tells about the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people, has appeared.
