Gucci presents its new Eyewear 2022 collection built around retro-looking pairs.
If we were to compile our summer vacation companions, sunglasses or glasses would probably be on the short list. Where the absolute essentials rub shoulders. Every summer has its partner, every journey has its light, and every adventure has its story. The story told by Gucci for its Eyewear 2022 collection begins with the attitude and self-confidence of the singer and the musicians in his band. The campaign envisioned by Alessandro Michele to bring this collection of glasses to life is also inspired by this unique atmosphere of the touring band. The first story takes us on a tour bus with Lou Doillon and his musicians, while the second follows Chinese actress Ni Ni, also on the road between two concerts. The glowing light of these two mystical stories, between the dog and the wolf, is reminiscent of what lights up California. Around them and on their shoulders, tools and extravagant outfits inspired by rock star looks. A retro-tinged aesthetic emerges from this campaign, echoing many details from the Eyewear 2022 collection.
Cat-Eye line, shapes sometimes flying, sometimes rectangular and cheeky, with softer, round frames or metallic smoked lenses… The pairs in this retro-looking collection promote self-expression. Especially with their signature signature and ‘G’ rivets, gold straps and tortoiseshell or deep black acetates, these glasses pair easily with an exaggerated jacket or calico dress from the Gucci Love Parade collection. Or even with a guitar you take on the road or on tour.
Like the finest musical instruments, this exclusive collection of sunglasses and glasses is handcrafted in Italy by artisans skilled in the art of noble materials. Whether they’re protecting our feet from the sun in the water or they’re being used to scan the horizon in search of the ship that will take us to the next stage, the pairs in this collection are cut for summer and let people get creative. the artist expresses himself in us.
