The UK has been the host country of the song contest four times instead of other states.
British representative Sam Ryder, who took second place with the song Space man at Eurovision 2022, responded to the fact that the event will be held in his country, and not in Ukraine. He announced this on his Instagram page.
“Hi friends, just a couple of thoughts. This is a Ukrainian party, we just invite them to have a party at our house. I know how much it meant to Kalush and the Ukrainian delegation that next year it will be held at home in Ukraine. It’s not just me, who’s heart is heavy knowing that it can’t be like this now,” he said.
At the same time, the performer emphasized that the competition will be held at the highest level to adequately represent Ukrainian culture, history and music.
