Anna and Elsa, from ‘Frozen’,, relatives of Rapunzel, ‘wrapped’? Understand the theory!

Discover the theory that puts Anna and Elsa, from ‘Frozen’ and Rapunzel, of ‘wrapped’ as relatives even in different stories

With unique stories, diverse characters and released in different years, the animated movies “Frozen – a Freezing Adventure” (2013) and “Rolled” (2010) are connected only by the studio that launched them, Disney, right? According to a theory, this belief is wrong!

This is because, based on some details hidden in the films located in the magical kingdom of Arendelle, as well as questions that have long been answered, the idea argues that Princess Rapunzel is related to the heirs of the throne, Anna and Elsa.

To understand the theory, it is necessary to remember that, still at the beginning of “Frozen”, when Anna sings “Once in Eternity” celebrating the coronation of Elsa, the princess explores the castle and, crossing the gates and seeing the guests coming, you can notice the presence of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider; look:

With this easter Egg, fans of the animations have concluded that the two stories are set in the same universe and the events of “Frozen” are situated after the end of “wrapped”, as in the coronation, Rapunzel has short and brown hair, while Flynn wears real clothes, suggesting that they were in Arendelle after getting married.

The timeline also states that three years are what separate the events from both films, based on the year each of them went on: 2010 and 2013, a distance that solidifies the idea of family connection, considering the trip that marked the farewell of Anna and Elsa of her parents.

It turns out that in “Frozen”, King Agarr and Queen Iduna depart on a ship for “two weeks,” but end up facing a storm and never return. The theory argues that they would have embarked on Rapunzel’s marriage, strengthening the idea that they were relatives, as this would be a good reason to leave Arendelle even in the face of concern for the revelation of the ice powers that Elsa has.

In addition, when the tragedy happened, Elsa was 18 and Anna 15, since the co-director of “Frozen”, Jennifer Leehe stated through the X (former Twitter), which, during the main part of the plot, they were 21 and 18 years old, respectively, which also make the idea that the stories are separated for 3 years.

Another evidence mentioned as proof of kinship would be the similar physical characteristics of Rapunzel’s mother and the mother of Anna and Elsa, as both have white skin, dark hair and light eyes, suggesting that they could be sisters.

Is the theory real?

Disney never denied or stated the idea. However, something that can be discarded is that the journey of the kings of Arendelle happened to accompany the union in the marriage of Rapunzel and Flynn, as in “Frozen 2”, it is revealed that the duo goes in search of the answers to Elsa’s powers.

What are the stories of “Frozen” and “Wrapped”?

“The fearless and optimistic Anna leaves an epic journey, alongside mountain man, Kristoff, and her loyal Rena Sven, to find her sister Elsa, whose freezing powers imprisoned the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal winter,” says the “Fronzen” synopsis.

Already “rolled up” follows the story of Rapunzel, princess of long, magicians and golden hair that was taken from her parents still young and trapped in a tower. She, who is dreaming to be able to have her freedom and closely see the lanterns that climb to heaven on her birthday, ends up making a deal with a sought after thief to fulfill her wish. Both films are available on Disney+.
