Remake Live-action, ‘Lilo & Stitch’ was released in theaters less than a month ago; See what director Dean Fleischer says about continuing the story
“Lilo & Stitch” will have another movie? The remake live-action of Disney animation that follows the unlikely friendship between a blue alien and a Hawaiian little girl is still on display, but the director Dean Fleischer Already comments on the possibility of continuing the history in theaters, or, perhaps, in streaming.
It turns out that in a recent interview with Variety (via Cinepop), the filmmaker was asked about the idea of continuing the plot, to which he responded by leaving the doors open to a sequence or a derived narrative, but this in another format: the animation.
“If it was the right idea …”, began Fleischer exposing the condition to continue with the story. “I wouldn’t just do it just because there is a new market demand for that. But I also like the idea of doing an animated spin-off as an episodic or limited series.”
It is worth mentioning that spin-offs expand or explore the same universe as a work, and the “Lilo & Stitch” franchise already has some. Among sequences, prequelas and derived plots, the other titles are: “Stitch! The Movie” (2003), “Lilo & Stitch: The Series” (2003), “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch gave defect” (2005) and “Leroy & Stitch” (2006). All are available for streaming on Disney+.
