It is worth remembering that, last week, in an interview with Variety magazine, the director Matt Shakman revealed that one of the great inspirations for the film was the comics of the Fantastic Four, especially those made by the writer Jonathan Hickman between 2009 and 2011.
“As we developed the film’s script, I repeatedly returned to this epic journey – enthusiastic about hallucinating innovations such as the Reeds Council and fascinated by the heroic clashes against characters such as the annihilator. But it was Hickman’s deep understanding of specific family dynamics that impacted me the most,” Shakman reported.
The director still continued his speech by highlighting some details that fans can check out in the movie, ensuring that the dynamics between the characters “was never as fantastic” as in the comics.
Jonathan Said that “the mood and heart I loved as a child? Is it there and better than ever. The complicated dynamics of a family? They get even more interesting when Val and Franklin take the prominence. And the feeling of optimism and dazzle? I think the fantastic quartet has never been as fantastic as it is on these pages.”
Starred by Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing), “Fantastic Four: First Steps” is premiered in Brazilian theaters scheduled for July 24.
