Epic Games and LEGO announce partnership to create virtual space for children

In addition to children, LEGO and Epic Games’ metaverse aims to allow the whole family to participate in the experience.

Children’s virtual space? In collaboration, the Epic Games and The LEGO Group announced on Thursday that they are developing a metaverse that will allow children to immerse themselves in a digital universe.

The partnership will seek to “build an immersive, creatively inspiring and engaging digital experience for children of all ages to enjoy together.”

In addition, the companies want the whole family to participate in the invention that, in addition to being fun and safe, aims to empower children “to become confident creators”.

The metaverse that will be created by Epic Games and The LEGO Group will also seek to ensure privacy and protect the right to play, as well as empowering children and their families to use the tools and thus control their digital immersion.

In the declaration, Niels B Christiansen, CEO of The LEGO Group said: “Children love to play in the digital and physical worlds and move seamlessly between the two. We believe there is enormous potential for them to develop lifelong skills such as creativity, collaboration and communication through digital experiences. But we have a responsibility to make them safe, inspiring and beneficial for everyone. Just as we have protected children’s rights to safe physical play for generations, we are committed to doing the same for digital play. We look forward to working with Epic Games to shape this exciting and fun future.”

The new project does not yet have a release date announced by the companies involved, so fans excited about the news should wait for more information.
