Discover what Washington’s Liberation Front is best known for the acronym WLF, a military faction of the universe of The Last of Us
Another episode of the second season of ‘The Last of Us’ is due to be released on Sunday, 04, which should bring news about the risky expedition of Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Dina (Isabela Merced). The fourth chapter is scheduled for 10 pm (GMT) at HBO and the Max streaming.
For those who do not remember, in the most recent episode of history, which brings to the screens the narrative of the sequence of the homonymous game that was released in 2020, the duo left the community in secretly, departing with a horse, some supplies and ammunition on the way to Seattle, looking for Abby (Kaitlyn Duty) and his cronies, who have committed a crime that Ellie will never forget.
In the third chapter, however, there was also a new faction that, until then, only existed in the game: the Washington Liberation Front (WLF (Washington Front of Washington), which Dina discovered that Abby (formerly member of the fireflies) is part. In the plot it is also revealed that the WLF was responsible for the massacre of another new group, the Serafites.
What is WLF?
Presented in ‘The Last of Us Part II’, Washington’s Liberation Front is a Seattle military faction created in opposition to the authoritarian government of the disaster response agency, Fedra, a military and government force that became responsible for controlling quarantine zones after the pandemic caused due to the mutation of the cordyceps fungus.
The group, whose members are known as wolves, is led by former naval heifer Isaac Dixon. In the plot, they gain notoriety, because, in war against Fedra, they end up overcoming the opposition in Seattle, taking control of the territory and standing out for the war power they have conquered, as well as the cruelty they assume against outsiders – which led them to another conflict.
This is because the fundamentalist religious faction founded by a woman nicknamed “The Prophet”, the Serafites, did not agree with the WLF’s form of government, since she, who proposed to a rebellious alternative from Fedra, took over the reins of the population as well as her opponents: with the concentration of power and violence.
It turns out that Serafites (also referred to as scars due to marks on their faces created as part of a religious ritual) have an ideology that walks in the opposite direction to WLF, as they believe in the utopian dream of the prophet of an equal and pacifist society, and the return of humanity to nature, so much so that they hunt in forests and communicate by whistles.
Thus, a group war is established, which has existed in games for almost a decade and has gained shocking twists after the breach of rules of a peace treaty among them – which should also be addressed in the series.

More about The Last of Us
Posted by Naughty Dog in 2013, ‘The Last of Us’ was created by Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann as a third person survival game. This is because, the narrative of the game is located 20 years after the devastation caused by the mutation of the cordyceps fungus, and follows smuggler Joel, who is mission to escort Ellie, the only young man who was infected and survived, out of the Fedra Military Quarantine zone and take her to the base of the revolutionary militia of the fireflies, where she could help in the creation of an infection.
The game received a sequence in 2020, where Joel deals with the consequences of the choices he made four years before the new events to keep Ellie saved. In addition, players embark with Ellie on a journey full of pain and violence in search of one thing: revenge.
